Every exhibitor at this year's Engage Employee Summit is helping restore degraded landscapes in western Uganda — supporting biodiversity, livelihoods and climate resilience across the world.

For every stand at the event, a tree will be planted in Uganda's Rwenzori Mountains: a globally significant landscape that has faced increasing pressure from deforestation and land degradation. That's 100 trees, in one of the world's most important forest corridors, delivered through the International Tree Foundation alongside local communities and women-led organisation Alpha.

 More than a number

This isn't about planting trees for the sake of it. It's about growing forests that last.

Working with the people who depend on these landscapes, the International Tree Foundation focuses on planting the right trees in the right places — a community-led approach that significantly improves long-term survival rates and genuine ecological impact. The work restores degraded land, improves soil and water systems, creates sustainable livelihoods, and supports wildlife recovery across the region.

The Rwenzori Mountains sit at the heart of a biodiversity hotspot. Restoring forests here helps stabilise soils, replenish water systems, store carbon and protect species — while creating income for local communities, including women-led groups who are central to this effort.

Why it matters

The scale of the challenge is significant. Around 30% of the world's tree species are currently threatened with extinction. Yet forest restoration has the potential to deliver up to one third of the climate mitigation needed by 2030 — making community-led work like this one of the most practical and powerful tools we have.

Your presence at this event contributes directly to that work. Your stand is part of something that will outlast the day, the venue and the event itself.

Trees are being planted in partnership with the International Tree Foundation and local communities in the Rwenzori Mountains, Uganda, including women's group Alpha.
