Dr Marcelle Moncrieffe-Newman is a highly accomplished HR leader with a distinguished career spanning Chief People Officer roles in both the public and private sectors. She currently serves as Chief People Officer at City St George’s, University of London, where she leads innovative strategic initiatives in workforce planning, talent management, and organisational transformation.

In addition to her executive responsibilities, Dr Moncrieffe-Newman is a board member of the North London Foundation Trust, where she chairs the People and Culture Committee. She played a key role as lead non-executive director during the significant merger of two NHS trusts, utilising her expertise in governance and organisational change.

A recognised thought leader in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), Dr Moncrieffe-Newman’s doctoral research at Heriot-Watt University focused on the impact of workplace culture on the careers of Black employees. This research forms the foundation of her forthcoming book, "One Step Forward, Two Steps Black: Navigating Anti-Black Workplace Culture," which offers actionable strategies for addressing systemic inequities in professional environments. The book is scheduled for publication this summer.

In addition to her PhD, Dr Moncrieffe-Newman is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and holds advanced degrees in Human Resource Management and Law. Her career reflects a deep commitment to advancing equity, inclusion, and organisational effectiveness while championing employee well-being and career development.
