Laura Pickering is an award-winning internal communications leader in the charity sector. Having worked for national charities like Alzheimer’s Society, Cancer Research UK, Mind, Sense and Girlguiding, she has over 14 years’ experience in developing and delivering internal communications strategies in the charity sector and supporting organisations to transform their internal communications from the ground up. She is a mentor for Charity Comms, supporting the career development of other internal comms professionals.
Laura’s currently the Head of Internal Communications Engagement at Alzheimer’s Society, and recently led the Cancer Research UK internal comms team to win Best not-for-profit/public sector team, 6-10 people’ in the 2024 Institute of Internal Communications Awards.
