Lloyds Banking Group People Director, Business & Commercial Banking

Stuart is an international expert in AI‑enabled transformation and digital HR, with a career spanning multiple industries and geographies. His professional experience includes Executive roles at Lloyds Banking Group (LBG), as well as earlier leadership and consulting positions at IBM, EY, The Coca‑Cola Company and Accenture where he worked on complex global large‑scale transformations from strategy through to design and successful deployment. 

Stuart currently serves as People Director, Business & Commercial Banking, at LBG. In this role, he focuses on shaping people strategy at scale, with particular emphasis on skills-based workforce strategy, digital colleague and customer experience, and AI driven organisational transformation. Earlier roles within LBG include leading the People Platform and Global People Operations, that entailed the development and deployment of AI‑enabled platforms, the global evolution of people services and operations, and the integration of design thinking and agile operations as LBG undergoes one of the UK's largest and most complex financial services transformations. 

International in outlook and experience, Stuart has lived and worked across multiple countries, bringing a global mindset to enterprise transformation and leadership. He is an established thought leader in HR and transformation, regularly contributing articles and commentary on digital HR, skills, and the future of work, and speaking at industry conferences on topics including Gen AI in HR, ethical use of AI, and colleague experience. 

Stuart holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Industrial Psychology from the University of Cape Town and has completed executive education at Harvard Business School, Oxford School of Business, with a focus on talent management, organisational performance, leading change, and global leadership.  He recently also completed the executive education course on Leading with AI at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School. 

Stuart is a visible advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a particular interest in reducing systemic barriers in technology and the workplace and promoting inclusive access to skills and opportunity.
